If you are trying to get a grasp of the majority American perspective of the Arab people, then I think you would be better served understanding not if they think ALL Arabs are terrorists, but in understanding the reason why some Americans think so. The root lies in the dramatic difference in cultural ideologies. Furthermore, the American culture is extremely diverse and therefore the trending shows that Americans living in more rural societies are a bit more traditional in their value system and more religiously minded. Since the reason for Middle Eastern terrorist acts lies in religious undertones, then those Americans from a rural background would be more likely to consider Arab intentions of the terrorist notion. However, the more liberal minded peoples of America that you would be more likely to find in urban districts would be more strongly apt to see the posed question as a stereotypical inquiry and thus would disagree. Growing up in an urban setting, I am more inclined to think that although most terrorists are of a Middle Eastern descent, No - Arabs, in general, are NOT terrorists.

of course not. The Arab world has a longer human history than the west - they had cities when we were running about in bear skins worshipping the druids. They have a totally different religious culture and this reflects on their society, family life, values and morals. This is not a criticism.
However the west has been dependant on oil for about a century and supplies are dwindling. It was handy then to give the Judaic people a country, supported by the west to give us a strong hold in the region and have some control over oil. This has led to instability and infighting that we have financed and manipulated. Quite rightly i think, the arab countries have fought for their autonomy and freedom from western influence and occupation. Terrorists fight lone battles, sometimes with the backing of powerhungry madmen, and it is right that we should try to stop this, and the wests increased presence there is in all probability to prevent further unrest as it affects security and oil supplies. I do not think for a second all arabs are terrorists and i dont think all americans are xenophobic neds. I do think they are mightily pissed off.

No. Some terrorist are Arabs. Some Irish have been terrorists. The British thought the American Revolutionary Army were terrorists, too. Think about it.

Of course not. An entire nation or race is never 'terrorist'. To assume that would be a very rude and racist assumption. To say all Arabs are terrorists would be like saying all Americans are illiterate hillbillies or saying all animals have fur. The point is you can never just blindly generalize like that. Not all, but the Muslim religion is not a religion of peace. The religion teaches that we "infidels" don't have souls so killing us is the same as killing a cow or a sheep. So terrorism is a way of life to them. There are moderates who don't practice terrorism, but if you look, the moderate Arab countries also don't want the terrorists dealt with because we're just infidels and we don't have the right to defend ourselves against "the faithful".

Absolutely not! That's a generalization. Terrorists are terrorists! You can't classify a nation or a culture on this! That's like saying if you see a caucasian person who makes a racist comment, you turn around and say that all caucasians are racists. not true!
