You don't say whether a crash was involved or what the charge is. Assuming no crash:
1. If the police officer fails to appear, ask the judge to dismiss the case for lack of prosecution.
2. If the officer appears, He will get to testify first. You will get between 30 sec. & one minute to tell your side, so practice making all the points of your defense clearly in that time. Without knowing the specific charge it is impossible to tell you what points may be important to make.
3. Don't dress like you are going to the beach. Judges are impressed by people who are respectful & take their court appearance seriously. Dress like you are applying for a bank teller's job.

When I was in court, everyone was pleading "no contest" to their tickets. I pleaded guilty and got the lowest fine in the entire room.

just show up and dont lie. alot of time the officer wont show up and the ticket will be thrown out

if you did it plead leniency as you don't have much cash
if your going to argue and the charge is speeding get the average speed on that street if 75 % go faster than you did you may be successfully

Your only chance is if the police officer does not show up. If he does your out of luck.

dont argue the cop or the judge. dont talk except for when they ask to state your side of the story. just be quiet for the rest of the time.
