appying for job. asks about criminal convictions. i have a bad check charge from 3 years ago. does this need to be answered?

A conviction for a bad check charge is a criminal conviction, just like a conviction for speeding, robbery or vadalism. Unless you intend to lie on your application, the answer is, yes.

if you had to go to court and was found guilty then it is a conviction. It's called uttering in criminal court cases. You may need to ask for an expungement

If you went to court and satisfied the claim, then I"d say no. If you HAVEN'T paid the claim, then you should reconsider what you say.
