You are correct. It isn't fair. Companies love to give free goodies to the stars so that they can use them in public and thus give free endorsing.

I agree, it drives me nuts.
The companies will get free publicity if the celeb is seen using their product.

because ppl get so engrossed in the " o.m.g. i can't believe i'm sharing the same space as a celebrity, so i'm going to kiss their a** til they freakin puke syndrome"; besides, they get a little free publicity in the bargain so everyone wins. if they really wanted to impress the celebrities, then maybe they should get-em a little something but donate the rest of the stuff to a charitable organization in their names. this way, EVERYONE really does win.

because they are good advertising for the products people see them wearing the items or carrying the items and they want them to so they can be just like the star.
