More specifically, is he a recovering alcoholic? I saw him on the Today show and the hosts surprised him with an actual margarita. He put the glass near his lips, but clearly did not drink. In fact, he didn't let the liquid even touch his lips. He said something about it being too early, but the sip was so forged it got me to wondering: Maybe he did not want to touch the alcohol because he is a "closet" alcoholic who feels that if it were public knowledge, it would damage his career. What do you think?

In his biographical book, "A Pirate Looks at Fifty", he admits to slowing down. That was about 8 or 9 years ago.

You don't have to be in recovery to turn down a drink first thing in the morning.

I think he's just an abnormally annoying singer. As a black man, I can say that his music is basically kryptonite to my ears.
