Okay, this probably sounds stupid but I'm 14 and a girl and don't have my ears pierced. I kinda want to at times but I was wondering does it actually hurt? And if you get piercings on the bottom (regular) part of your ear does it hurt more/less than getting them on the top part where the cartilage is? Thanks...

In general Cartilage hurts more, but everybody is different.
Most people describe it as a quick pinch. Take care of it properly, and be careful with it.
I would suggest getting pierced at a tattoo shop or at a piercing studio. If you go to a clean studio, its much safer and hygienic.

It's actually normal to get your ears pierced in your early teens. And when it comes to pain the bottom lobe hurts a lot less then the cartilage on the top part of your ear. It goes so quick you can hardly feel it, it is just like a little pinch. It just burns a little bit after it's done. Good Luck!

It's not stupid that you're 14 and your ears aren't pierced. You don't have to get them pierced, only if you want to. I got mine pierced when I was 5. I can't say it hurt REALLY badly because I don't even remember if it did. Try to first get them at the bottom, it will probably hurt for about 10 seconds but goes away. But it is worth it.

Getting your ears pierced doesn't hurt at all. Plus, earrings are such a great accessory. I got my cartilage pierced and that hurt more. Plus, it got big time infected and I had to take it out. Start small. get your bottom done.

I had my done six times. Three in the lobe and two in the middle and one at the top. They all felt the same when pierce with a gun. It just took the top to heal faster because I keep catching the comb on the earring.

It's not stupid to get your ears pierced at 14 years old. I got mine gone when i was 4 years old and now that im 19, I'm going to get mines done again. There's nothing to e ashamed about piercing your ears. You have to do it for yourself only. It won't hurt as much as you think it will. Go to professionel who keeps their equipmet sterile!! Trust me, u won't regret it!!
P.S Your ears is cartilage, so you'll be fine

this is barely a piercing, can no longer you wait until your sixteen? you would be able to harm you mothers and fathers emotions in case you pass at the back of their backs. No i does not harm. there is extra of a huge gamble of your ears getting contaminated in case you get it pierced with a gun, this is terrific to get it executed with a needle (frightening i be responsive to) besides the undeniable fact that it fairly does not harm, for a split 2nd it hurts a tiny bit yet then the ear is going numb. Gok Wan has stretched ear lobes, so until your making plans to stretch your ears, i might decide for the stud. good luck on in spite of you opt for for.

it hurts a little bit. it hurts less than a shot. yeah, the bottom hurts less than the cartilige, and clean them in the morning and at night to prevent infection (really gross, you'll know when your ears are infected).
p.s. that is not stupid. it's a matter of personal comfort. also, only wear 14 karat gold earrings untill over a year or they'll get infected! good luck!

I don't think getting any part of your ear pierced hurts...I have my cartilage and my ear lobes done and its not bad at all!

don't know about cartilage, but the ear lobe (bottom part) didn't really hurt me much - and I don't cope with pain that well.
