Does anyone remember a US TV Series from the mid 90's called something like 'Jacobs ladder' (not the film)

There was a series about a US corporate guy called something like Jacobs ladder, from mid 90's shown late at night. I am not sure of the title so nothing shows up on the internet. Please can someone give me the correct title. The main character was a pretty smooth guy and I think his step mother who was his age lived with him because his father had died. He was into corporate finance or something like that.
