I was watching The Trueman Show again and thought how brilliant he was in it. But he received no nominations at the Oscars unlike Ed Harris for the same movie. I think Ed Harris is a fantastic actor but he was surpassed in the film by Jim Boy, in my humble opinion!

I have never seen "Me, Myself and Irene". To be honest with you, I think I always thought Jim Carrey was a bit of an idiot until I saw "Truman" and "Eternal Sunshine etc". I changed my views from then on.

Yes, I believe Jim Carrey is under-rated as an actor. He can do both comedy and drama just like Robin Williams could. He should ve won an Academy Award for "Man on the Moon", The Truman Show , and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". I believed he deserved those awards.

Well I love that Jim Carrey has successfully crossed over from a comedic actor to an more serious actor. The Truman Show is great, so is Eternal Sunshine...but no way is he more esteemed than Ed Harris, Harris is the man...

Jim is often seen as a hysteric and brushed off. I loved Truman, Man on the Moon and Eternal.... and I also really rated Me, Myself and Irene. A lot of people hate The Farrelly brothers but I love them and they used 'both sides' of Jim well in that film. The best thing for his career is that it is well thought of directors like Peter Weir, Milos Forman and Michel Gondry who seek him out. I would loved to have seen an Oscar nomination for Man on the Moon because Jim really showed the complexity of Andy Kaufman but many said it was just an imitation performance. Funnily enugh they never said that about Capote or Walk the Line nominations and wins this year!

I thought the character he played in The Truman Show was a toned down version of his more comedic roles. That isn't to say he was not good. He was very good. But it was not as much as stretch as his performance in The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which was simply brilliant.
With the proper direction, Jim Carrey can be as magnificent as Anthony Hopkins.

Jim Carrey is very underrated as an actor. Critics and audiences just can't get past his "funny guy" persona and give him the props he deserves as a "serious" actor. He definately deserved an Oscar for the "Trueman Show" although I'm pretty sure he did win a Golden Globe for that film. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

I used to think he was just another guy who pulled faces.
Got to see "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".
I don't need to laugh all the time. Jimbo is very cool.
