its not how long, its all in the hours. You have to have some many hours before you can take the state board test.

u would have to go to school for about 4 years to become a makeup artist

depends on what state your in, in PA you don't need a license to be a make-up artist. I went to cosmetology school, studied esthetics, learned about make-up and skin care, took about 6 months.

where i live it doesn't matter really how long ( when it comes to like years or months) we go by hours......like most places u have to have a min. of 1200
