I'm going to see if my doctor will put me on Clomid, how much deas the scripts cost, and whats the normal length to be on it? Any major side affects, words of advice? And lastly will this pill increase the chances of a multi birth? I have heard some health insurance companys wont insure family's that have had a member on Clomid because it increases the chance of multi or low birth weight births.

Because Clomiphene binds to estrogen receptors, including the estrogen receptors in the cervix, it can interfere with the ability of the cervical mucus glands to be stimulated by estrogen to produce fertile mucus. Only "hostile" or dry cervical mucus may develop in the days preceding ovulation. If this occurs, adding a small amount of estrogen beginning on cycle day 10 and continuing until the LH surge may enhance cervical mucus production.

Some women taking clomiphene experience hot flashes and premenstrual-type symptoms, such as migraines and breast discomfort (particularly if they have fibrocystic disease of the breasts). Visual symptoms such as spots, flashes or blurry vision are less common and indicate that treatment should stop.

Clomiphene is a very safe medication with relatively few contraindications. Preexisting liver disease is one contraindication since clomiphene is metabolized by the liver. Enlarged ovaries are also a contraindication since clomiphene may occasionally produce hyperstimulation of the ovaries.

The hot flashes are just like the hot flashes women experience at menopause when the level of estrogen circulating in the blood is low. The clomiphene fools the brain into thinking that blood estrogen levels are low.
could be very costy going to a infertility center I KNOW! BEST WISHES!

Most drug insurances cover part of the drug but if not a cycle of generic clomid at 50mg a day (that's 5 tablets total) runs $12.25 at my local pharmacy.
It is prescribed for 5 days each cycle--usually cycle days 3-7 or 5-9. Also, about the health coverage, you've heard right. A lot of companies won't give you life inurance or even health insurance if you've taken clomid. I've personally been turned down for a life ins. policy because of having taken clomid--I've never conceived on clomid, just taken it.

I am currently on Clomid and I am not having too many symptoms. I get minor hot flashes and I get emotional at times =/ The cost depends on your health coverage. I am with Blue Shield of CA and it costs me $30.00 for a month. I am on it for 5 days out of the month, day 3-8 of my cycle. The chance of multiples is very low. 1 in 80

No matter what the mg are (I have taken 50, 100 & 200mg) & the cost is the same....$10.00 for m (insurance covers mine). I was on it for one year straight (off & on for 4 years), but starting having severe dizzy spells on the 200 mg dosage, so my doctor made me stop taking it.

Side effects are dizzyness, grumpy, headaches. Make sure your doctor does a vaginal ultrasound on cycle day 14 or 16 to make sure you are ovulating. If you are ovulating & your eggs are bigger than 20mm then you normally get a shot of Norval to make you ovulate withing 36 hours...worked twice for us but both times resulting in a miscarriage.
