at the moment i do ,ots of weightlifting 3 days a week working all body parts, but at the moment i ahve a pint of milk after a workout is this good or if not why?

Catabolism (muscle wasting) starts immediately after a rigorous muscle workout. You want to (within 10 min) -

1. Replace glycogen stores and spike insulin to stop this.

2. Consume FAST absorbing protein (whey isolate) to start the building process.

Milk is Casein Protein, on of the slowest absorbing out there. Great with some all natural PB before bed to "feed" your body all night long.

What are you trying to accomplish? If it's "bulking up" I can tell you now you are now lifting enough. Also, you "bulk" when you are resting so your diet must be CLEAN and consistent.

Get plenty of sleep.

Eat a good meal with in 1 hr of completing your workout.

Look into Creatine, L-Glutamine peptides.

any form of protein is good milk is very rich in protein. I personally vow by using a whey supplement a perfectly natural form of cheese whey can be found in any sports food store. It helps your body convert nutrients and body fat to muscle. You can use other stuff like creatin but this is likely to have some nasty side effects on your metabolism

Cause after you work out, the body begins to start eating away at muscle mass. So you need eat something that's high in protein - lean meat, or milk is great. It's also good because if you work out, you lose nutrients through sweating, so it helps to replenish your system. I normally eat a protein bar after working out.

always try to take a protien shake/drink 45mins at the most after a workout,your body needs re-fueling ..[like a car],then you will see the benifits quicker and feel better too.
