I would gladly participate in a Chinese embargo! I think this is a terrific idea.
Anything to get the bombs and rockets out of the Muslim terrorists hands!
Amen brother!

I am American, and i believe that the resolution in NK, should be that there should be increased pressure from China especially, Japan and South Korea. Since they are the main countries that provide aide to NK. The only resolution there should be unfortunately sanctions against that country. But, asking China to ask NK to stop it's nucleur program would almost be similiar to the idea for Lebanon to ask the US to halt Israel's attack. NK and China are considered ally's and i think the only reason we have good relations to China is they have so much money invested in the US, along with our country buying their cheap imports.
Also, as a huge chunk of our economy is selling weapons to other countries, we sort of turn a blind eye when those weapons are used in our view as inproper ways.

Okay. I thought about that too, but then I realized that the American people BUY a lot from China. You are looking at it from China's end. That means that their trades will go down and they won't have any profit.
But what about us?
Well, we get so many goods from China that we would just fall apart. I think at least 70% of all imports recieved by the U.S.A. are recieved from either China or Hong Kong. We can supply the demand by ourselves.
Besides, China could take us down with their military power. It is better just to be alies with them so we don't get killed. And what you are suggesting would probably destroy the world. That really wouldn't accomplish much.

Not selling the cheap products from china would put a stop to spending in OUR economy.
No spending would cause jobs to be lost in our country because there would be less demand.
We are in a global economy now and diplomacy is the only answer.

Your idea seems like it could work, but remember that China has nuclear weapons and would probably use them if their country started to fall apart after the economic hardship...
there is no simple solution to the problem, and how could we survive since there is not much manufacturing still taking place in the US?
I like this discussion.

Interesting point but America will never cease trade with anyone because it makes them too much money. The US economy is to fragile to stop commerce with entire countries. The end result would be inconvinience to other countries and America's downfall as super power.

The problem is that our economy is equally tied to theirs. If their economy or any large economy of the world goes down it is felt on all shores. That being said, if we suddenly stop importing goods from China the negative impact on their economy would also be felt by ours. There is also the issue of the resale value in our markets, our CPI would rise causing inflation to also rise. which lowers spending, which increases unemployment etc etc etc...

Bad idea. First of all China is lending the US billions and billions of dollars to fund our federal budget deficits. What do you think they would do if we shut the US markets off to them. Secondly, it's a very isolationalist policy, very dangerous.
