if there isn't, is there at least some QUICK way to determine if any of the things i download are infected with viruses???

Downloading 'free' music is theft of intellectual property and violation of copyright - you're better off going to a cheap site where you can pay a few cents per song like allofmp3.com that has a) good selection b) virus-free non-corrupted files that don't cut out c) selectable bitrate and best of all d) you won't be sued and still can live with yourself when you're old

i would really suggest Limewire, its safe... well, i have been using it for a year now & havent got any infections from it yet cuz it automatically scans for viruses during the downloading, so i find it very reliable =)
