my period isn't due until 8/3 or 8/7 .I have a 28-32 day cycle. My last period was 7/7. What could the brownish discharge have been ? I went to the bathroom a few minutes ago and it's not happening anymore, what is going on?

It could be implantation bleeding if you are preg. Or your menstrual cycle could be changing. If you don't start soon then I would test. If if comes out neg and you still haven't started, then go to the Dr and have them do a blood test.

Brownish or blackish discharge can be a sign of an infection OR it can be "old blood". This happens when your periods are very short and for some reason (weight issues, tilted uterus, etc) your body does not finish releasing your cycle. The blood darkens as it waits for your next cycle. In menopause this happens alot because your periods get erratic and you don't have one every month. If you cycle is erratic, for whatever reason, this can happen. My best advice, call you OBGYN and ask them.

It could very well be your period starting 2 days early.

Is it possible that you're pregnant? Sometimes there is a little bleeding when the fertilized egg implants in the uterine wall.
