Not in any time forseeable. Death by old age is usually caused by one of your organs giving out, and I don't really see a possible medical way to give your organs more resilience.

You know how if you buy something and use it enough, it will give out or not work anymore, so you have to buy a new one. Our bodies are like that.

Funny how the cells in the human body regenerate. Every year, a whole new you is made; all the old cells are gone, and the new ones take over. Whether skin, or heart, or eyes, hair or intestines, the human body can only rejuvinate the cells to a maximum of 120 times. That's 120 years. We cannot replicate ourselves very well. Think of a copy machine making a copy of a copy of a copy... Entropy Increase (2nd law of thermodynamics) says that all things eventually wear out. There have been stories of some people living to 136, but that may not be true. It may be possible to live to 200 with the right environment and diet and medications, etc., but it's highly improbable.

Yes it is almost a certainty that the lifespan of a normal human could be extended beyond a 1,000 years. The turning point has almost been reached. Go to the Life Extension Foundation's website. Look up Aubrey de Grey's webpage. Check out Practical Scientific Life Extension by Pearson and Shaw (twenty years old but still a classic).

Scientists are working on that right now, some of them believe it's possible. They are testing new methods of living on smaller animals like Worms and rats...they have managed to stretch the lives of those Worms 7 times. Of course none of it is already tested on humans. The only thing that worries me about those experiments is the quality of life. I don't think people who are now hundred years or more, can really say they totally enjoy their lives...
