I wasn't allowed to use the phone, back then we still had open lines and if you were carefull enough you could pick up the receiver and listen in on the neighbors call.

Someone at random, with an indian accent, and convince them I was trapped at the airport. Many bought it and would come down to the airport!

Me and my best friend used to call those Fat Camps in the back of our "Teen" magazine in the middle of the night and leave fake messages pretending to cry about how fat we were and how much we wanted to come to camp there. Then we'd leave fake names and addresses for them to send us brochures. We were dumb. But it was fun!
