They have five more minutes for commercials. Advertisers pay big bucks for a spot during a baseball game. This way from 7:00 - 7:05 the network is bringing in big bucks from commercials. It's all about the money.

@ 7:00 is the National Antham and the first pitch. Whuch altogether it takes five minutes. @7:05 the game starts.

To give the TV people a chance to talk for five minutes about the starting pitchers, lineups, etc.
In the playoffs, they need even more time to blab and blab, so the times get pushed back to 7:20.

yeah what they said becuase it would seem wierd to just go to the game without an introduction. The lineups and positions have to be told. Also, the games in Canada (toronto) start at _.07 becuase of both the US and Candian anthems have to be played.
