Seriosuly, every other thread I see, "I got my girl pregnant, help!" or, "My bf and me had sez, I'm pregnant!". What is wrong with these kids? Let me make it clear. IF YOU HAVE SEX, ESPECIALLY UNPROTECTED, THERE'S A CHANCE SOMEONE WILL GET PREGNANT. I was taught this in 5th grade, and you all know how to protect yourselves. Make better decisions out there!

These are excellent answers. I hope some of the teens are reading this too. Keep it up!

I absolutely agree. With all of the information available today, there should be a decrease in "accidental" pregnancies...not an increase.

Kids these days have no respect for their parents or any adult authority, they think they know everything and the world revolves around them. They need to get a clue and stop having sex at such a young age and keep their heads in those books and get a good education and make something of themselves. Seems like today's teens will die early because there is a chance that most of these teens have AIDS which is sad but true. Their generation wiped out by AIDS just because they want to go lay up with each other. And the parents need to enforce the rules and make these teens know they are not playing around.

It's their parents not doing their jobs as parents. Parents want to be their kids "friends." Give me a break! Kids don't need more friends, they need parents who set clear limits and enforce them. Also, these kids will come home from school at 4, mom and dad are both working and don't get home until 6, so the kids are bored, and they start experimenting with things they shouldn't. I have a 16 year old and a 12 year old, and still make sure I'm home when they get home from school. I find out what happened during the day, what's going on in their lives. I make sure they get their homework done, and practicing their music. In other words, I'm a mean mom. But, my daughter hasn't gotten pregnant and my son hasn't gotten anyone pregnant, so I must be doing something right.

I agree with you. Its terrible what is happening to people these days. I understand accidents happen, but I am still appalled at the mentality of the children these days. We do have to blame it on media in part... Look at all the sex that is floating about everywhere, and look at the clothing the designers are coming out with. They are training little girls to be sluts! Its amazing. Kids are going right from bottles and diapers to playing with thier childhood friends anatomy. Its sick! Something has to be done about this, but I dont think there ever will be. I just hope that the people my age (25) are seeing all of this, and when they have their children, they will bring back some of the morals that people 10-15 years older than us have forgotten.

Apathy and that feeling of invincibility that many adolescents have, emotional problems, parents who haven't fostered an open relationship with their kids, simple mistakes, the misguided desire to make someone love them... there's as many reasons as there are pregnant girls.

Oh, and if they're educated in TX, a complete government-imposed lack of knowledge about how to prevent pregnancy and disease. Abstinence only sex ed isn't "ed" at all as far as I'm concerned.

Kids are out of control these day, they have no respect for authority or anything.. Teenagers seem to think they are untouchable and nothing can happen to them and guess what sh*t is happening everyday. Parents now a days are afraid to dicsiplin there children because they are scared they will go to jail for child abuse.. Back in the old days when you could beat your child with a switch these kids damn sure werent getting out of hand, they had respect for adults and themselves and teen pregnancy didnt seem to spread like wild fire like it does today!!! The world is straight up out of control

Kids don't care anymore, what's the deal with them having sex at 13? God, have a freaking childhood! It's kind of embarrassing knowing this is what we have become, we just need to give them a big slap of reality... wait, that's what that screaming new born will be doing when he wakes you up at 3 in the morning, every morning.

Morality has no place in the home anymore, because most of the parents are living in immoral relationships. Marriage has become a joke to them. So, how can they teach their children morality, integrity, honor, responsibility, character, and decency, when the parents don't have a clue?

We are in the second generation of the daycare, "Mom has to find herself" movement. I sure hope mom found herself, because her children and her grandchildren had to raise themselves on whatever lessons they could learn in the world. Unfortunately, most of those lessons teach them to be prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers, gun slingers, angry and depressed suicidal children with parents who would rather shack up than build a strong home and family.

Selfishness rules because the parents don't want to take responsibility of changing their own lives for the good of their children.

These kids want to do the actions, but don't want to suffer the consequences. OK. THAT'S WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN. GO AHEAD HAVE FUN AND NOTHING BAD WILL HAPPEN. We live in the real world people. That just shows how immature and not ready they are. "I'm too young to be a father/mother." Yeah, just like you were to young to have sex, right? Let's just hope they learn...

I think the REAL question, is what's wrong with these kid's parents? Obviously they haven't been educated about these things. I'll bet their parents would have been on Yahoo Answers 16 years ago, asking the same questions. Children having children...Unfortunately, it's a vicious circle.
