Avast Anti-virus:

Just make sure that all traces of Norton are uninstalled. Even leftover traces can interfear with other security programs. Norton can be very difficult to uninstall, but they have a removal tool for it at the Symantic website.

hi, i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar.
firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.
download firefox for free:

log on to www.grisoft.com and down load avg its a free basic anti virus software and then go to www. zonelabs.com for your firewall its free and very effective and they are both very simple to use but you may be wise to make sure that you uninstall any other firewall and anti virus programmes first

this is a tried and tested combination ,i have used it for over 2 years and never suffer from virus or spyware
