Decent hotel/casinos with lowest prices:
downtown - Plaza, Golden Gate, Fitzgeralds, Las Vegas Club
Strip - Casino Royale, Sahara, Stratosphere, Tropicana
Off-Strip - Orleans, Sam's Town
I'm not recommending Stardust or Riviera because I thought they were so tacky, but the prices would be good at those as well. Casino Royale is kinda tacky, too, but the location is fabulous. Check for reviews and direct links to the hotel websites at http://cheapovegas.com/

If you're renting a car or don't mind cabs/shuttles - the golden nugget which is at the far end of the strip has really nice rooms similar to treasure island and the mirage, and right now they have a promotion for 69/night during the week and 89 on the weekend

I found a really cheap site and it wasn't a rip off cause when I got there I has a room at the stratosphere for 45 a night and they had the sahara for even cheaper. just watch the area to get the strip cause you can get rooms for 20/night off the strip
