Try and re-format but this time use your phone. Go to menu > file manager > more > format ext. mem.

I see you have said that you have 3.8 gig avail. on a 2 gig card, have you tried this, http://www.noeman.org/gsm/showthread.php?t=11201
If so, then sometimes it does not work, warned sometimes it causes more trouble than its worth and files become corrupt and or unstable or crash when files on the extra partition are accessed ...
This only tends to be able to be done on SANDDISK or other NONE SONY memory sticks of the cheaper brands

If you have done this, and have been using a SE card, then your card might now be broken.. Let me know

Your data card has become corrupted - probably because of a faulty format - or it was pulled out instead of being 'ejected'.

Either format it IN the phone, or back into the PC, but NOT a quick format....

You can try formatting your card trough your cell phone. The other way is to try through a card reader. Other than that, you might of damaged your card and need to get a replacement card. Contact Sony and they might replace it. Who knows?

format using FAT and NOT fat32.. quick format is a no-no too... then see how you get on... dont forget sony memory sticks have a 5 year guarantee... if still doesnt work.. just send it back to them for a replacement..... also try moby memory for a card-reader too
