the league cup (also known as the carling cup) is a cup knockout tournament thats only available to the 92 football league members (the teams in the premiership, coca cola championship, , league 1 and league 2) they are one off knockout matches apart from the semi-final which is a two legged match. there are no replays at any round, all games are finished on the night (extra time and penalties if needed), the final takes place in february

the FA cup is similar except the tournaments open to all teams that are members of the FA. theres about 500 apparently and it starts with qualifying rounds. in the First Round proper, the coca cola league 1 and 2 teams enter, in round 3 the premiership and championship teams enter. there are replays in the fa cup if a games tied, if at the end of the replay its tied still, then extra times/and penalties if needed. they are all one -off knockout matches. the final takes place in may

F.A. Cup is a one and done tournament during the season for all levels of english soccer.

League Cups are for each league and are given to the team with the best record during the season.
