Um - there are a goodly number of questions about Wicca in the Religion and Spirituality section.
Discord - technically Wicca has only been around since the middle of last century, though it has attempted to reconstruct some pre-Christian pagan practices.
We don't do ourselves any favors by making grandiose claims that have already been proven historically wrong, IMHO.

Merry Meet!
I can not answer for all others in the Wiccan religion and its various Traditions. I my self do not post anything under mythology and folklore. I do believe in my deities, my path, my belief, my Tradition and my choice. How ever, there is a lot of mythos and folklore that goes with any and all traditions of Wicca.
As to why others continue to only add things to those groups, I my self can not answer. I do hope you do not make any judgments based on the topic, but on the merits of Wicca as a religion alone.
Be Well and Safe! Merry Part!

religion, mythology and folklore and really about the same things. They all deal with what a person believes to be true for them. All religions have their base in mythology and folklore, and so are very difficult to prove or disprove.

Wicca has been around for a lot longer than Christianity. A lot longer. Like, probably 4000 years. Wicca is what is left of several old religions that worshiped nature in all of its glory. It's actually a much more logical religion than Christianity. Not saying that it is more true, but it does have its benefits. It is as much a religion as Christianity or Muslim or Judaism or any other religion

I usually hang out in that section. Yes I truely believe. I take my initiation oath seriously and to the heart. Not only do I truely believe, I also live it. It is not just a religion it is a lifestyle. Something christians don't understand with theirs.

have seen a few people with demonic possesion - if you mess with the occult you open doors and give permission to demons to interfere with your life. Sure the witches here and pagans will say how new age and lovely it is etc. And I believe many are nice people - but even nice people can make mistakes and even nice people can get possesed or molested by dabbling with the occult and witch craft regardless if it is white magik or black magick. While it may not be as bad as those who directly invoke demons or the devil himself it still has elements of invoking the powers of nature and elementeral spirits and such. Trust me from personal experience be wary.
Only Jesus Christ is the Way the Truth and the Life. Try a good Catholic Church with a holy priest - look around they are still about! And yes as a number of good protestants have mentioned it is very clearly written in the bible it is dangerous to mess with the occult!
As for Christians killing witches etc. unfortunately some christians did go over the top yet at the same time if you look at the ancient aztecs, mayas and many other ancient religions and ancients witches and druids they had no problem about sacrificing not hundreds but thousands of people in honor of their spirits and gods and effigies and sacrifices - And I am sure most of them would not consider themselves as Satanist either.
I have met witches in the past and some of them as people come across as nice and pleasant but they are often very anti-established religion and often anti-Jesus unless Jesus is depicted as a Andy Pandy new age enlightened prophet man...
I hope this helps a little.
Jesus Loves you ask him to show you!
For a book on the subject and a former witch who was very high up check:
Title: FROM WITCHCRAFT TO CHRIST - IRVINE DOREEN
Code/ISBN: 0854765077
Publisher: KINGSWAY BOOKS
Description: The sensational true story of a woman rescued from Satan's grasp by the power of God
From prostitution, heroin and witchcraft to a life of joy and release in Christ, this classic Christian testimony is as relevant today as when it was first published. Doreen's experience may be extreme, yet it still offers hope… especially to those who consider purity to be a lost ideal, or who believe themselves to be beyond forgiveness and hope.

They are probably more likely to get answers to their questions if they place these questions under mythology and folklore.

I place my questions and most of my answers in both sections. I have found more refreshing debates in mythology than in religion. Besides, all religion is a form of mythos, of you think about it. Mythos just means story.

I fully believe in my religion. I do answer questions here. But if I was to post it would be under religion.
