hip hop and r&B that includes rap .people act like it's a crime what's so bad about it .to me it shows that some people came from the hood and they had to work extra hard to get where they are today

I don't hate it. And let me give you a tip. Don't start a question automatically accusing people of hating things, and being defensive. It makes you look like an asshole. Asshole.

I'm about as white as a white person can get and I love a lot of hip hop and R&B. However, You look at rappers like Mike Jones (Who?) and it makes you wonder how he can possibly be richer than half of America right now for saying his name over and over again. I like a lot of older hip hop and R&B: Dr. Dre, Eminem (before eminem show), Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, 2 pac, Biggie, Puff Daddy, Bone Thugs, and so on. They had/have talent, came from nowhere/the hood, and to this day, a lot of the rap out there doesn't compare to these artists. 50 cent, Chamillionaire and TI are talented. I actually didn't like TI that much before but now I like his stuff. But Ne-yo? Chingy? Mike Jones? Ying Yang Twins? Paul Wall? Where's the talent??? Where is the "extra hard work" that they did to get to where they are today?

Different people have different tastes. If everybody was the same the world would be a dull place.I like some rap but it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Just cause I don't like some rap/hip hop etc. doesn't mean I don't like people who like it.

i dislike it because it defeats the purpose of R&B. true R&B that is. back in the day they never had these hip-hop/R&B collaberations. when you want to hear some soulful singing with sexy grooves and beats, you don't want that interrupted with Lil' John screamin YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! right afterwards. do you? not saying that they should be separate from one another but it breeds this "new" genre of music that melts both into one and disregards the other two altogether. I prefer soulful r&b and hip-hop alike. but mixing them together just makes it look like another money grubbing collaberation that both parties are trying to get in on. besides. people today in both genres have very little longevity. you hear about them for a year or so, then they drop off the map completely.

who said? I never said that is why, I think the guys are ASSHOLES w issues, cuz it don't make em a man to disrespect women, it makes em less. Plus I hate nearly all 3 categories, except will smith, eminem, alicia keys, kandi, and blue catrell if they are in that category. Otherwise, I hate them ALL. Not my type, sorry. I'm white, just not my thing. I agree w ihatemtv and the person talking about bad influences and the *** and breasts nott titites, just getting rich, and nothing creative anymore. And all the rest who dislike it. Same opinion as theirs. Some do though.

I love rap, and I've noticed that exact same thing. People are just idiots and think that their music is so much better... but what's better about it, honestly? I appreciate most music (except country) and like a lot of different types, and never insult other people who don't like rap, so why do they feel like they need to insult us?

I used to like rap but now it's about money and rap has lost it's artform. Nobody is saying anything creative or socially related, rap today is about bragging about what you have and how great you are. It might be able to redeem itself if rappers can rediscover the importance of the true artform.

people are entitled to their opinions. its the freedom we have in america. fortunately i am one of those who love rap & hip-hop. the only thing that is bad is when they start badmouthing the music as if what they listen to is the only thing that matters. thats really what im against. its easy to criticize something you dont understand
