A crumb is already a fraction of something, and a crumb has no predetermined size, so I would say that you now have 2 crumbs.

It doesn't matter if you cut the table in half or into quarters, you've still only got one crumb. The table will be knackered though.

I've got a tiny pet crumb. I call it Tom- Tom Crumb.

The sum of the two halves would be a hole. Then if they fell through they wouldn't be on the plate.
