Why do men cheat?

same reason that women do. they are either not in love anymore and think it's a good idea to find someone else (which is stupid) or they are just pigs.

Not knowing the details it's hard to place an answer. HOWEVER...even if a relationship has gone bad...that is no excuse for cheating. Should either try to work out the relationship FIRST...or leave the relationship - get a divorce...THEN move on with your life....no honor in cheating...ever. People are human and can error in that direction - but they need to come clean..and move ON.

But your question was "why" do they do it? Not all do - so let's give the good guys a break...but those that do? See paragraph one...there is no excuse...EVER. But their own reasons why run the gamment from their marriage sucks to they are confused, etc, etc...all being baloney. If your marriage sucks - get a divorce...if your "confused" with your life...get a shrink before you enter into yet another relationship then.

A better question is; Why do the men I CHOOSE, cheat. Not all men do. But a significant portion of the male populace is predisposed towards it. And for some odd reason, women GRAVITATE towards that portion. *shrugs* Those that would not ever consider such an act, usually get labeled "Geek." "Nerd." Or the MOST damaging one a woman can use against a man, "Friend." Re-evaluate what you're looking for in a partner. Throw out the elements of Mystery, Danger, and Bad-Boy Cutesy-ness. You start to find out what a REAL man is. Until women get those concepts out of their heads, as being desirable traits in a mate, you're going to be cheated upon. You PICK cheaters.

There are several theories on this. One theory states that men are genetically predisposed to cheat. Something deep in the genetic code for the man to procreate as many times as possible. Having said this doesn't make us "powerless" to answering the mail to our "caveman default programing". AL default programing can be overridden by the user (men).

You have to be selective on which man you choose to have relationships with. The way to do this is to have a plan for your life and have idea of what type if man will help you get to the "desired end-state" of you plan. Unfortuantely we get into trouble when we let our heart (or our loins) do the picking without any regard to common sense. Many men have found this out the hard way.

EVen if you find a good man you can still chase him into another woman's arms if you leave "unmet demand" go unanswered. If he like oral sex then you as the mate are required to give him oral sex regardless if you like it or not! Letting your man go to work with a load on is "flirten with disaster" because I will guarantee that there is another woman out there that would gladly "answer the mail" for you.

they are looking outside their relationship for a need that is not being met by their partner. for some reason if a guy sees a trait in another woman that will fulfill their need (emotional or sexual) they will pursue her. most of the time they don't realize that they are straying from their commitment until it is too late. fascination, is another factor. if the other woman seems mysterious or gives the image that she can't be caught, it becomes a game to him. and you know men they don't like to loose any game, so they follow thru with the steps to playing a cheating game. hiding, lying, coming up with the most creative ideas to keep their new toy under wraps. i am sorry if you were hurt and i hope all the best comes to you. us girls need to stick together. i am here for you if you need to talk.

People who cheat are not content in their current relationship or they have a hard time looking the other way when advanced. I think most people don't know why they do it. Sometimes the moment happens and you regret it, but you talked yourself into saying why not. People make mistakes, but they should learn to control all urges outside the current relationship or tell the person you are in a relationship with that you aren't ready to be a one person guy or girl.

I can only tell you what my husband told me when I found out that he had cheated on me twice. He said I wasn't paying that much attention to him. He met a woman and she kissed the ground he walked on. My point is this, whatever he's missing from you he'll get from someone else. The same reason women do. They are unhappy in their home. It really is not do much a sex thing as it is a fulfillment thing.

My ex girlfriend said her ex husband cheated on him. It didn't take long to figure out why.

1. Her mother dominated her, controlled their kids, and everything in their household.
2. She was a constantly sick with intangible illnesses (migraines, etc). It is hard to get turned on by someone that constantly complains about being ill. So he went elsewhere.

because men are creatures who thrive on instant gratification. For some reason, the "if it feels good, do it" idea takes over, and the consequences of their actions are unimportant. They can't help it...it's a man thing.

Some women are like that as well...but not usually...

The reason that men cheat is because men are dogs.Sometimes they think with their privates and not with their brains.If they would think with their brains and not their privates they would stay out of trouble(for the most part anyway).
