All the products by Norton are all 100% junk. First it will not find or remove almost all of any virus you may get hit with. Second this program is a nightmare for the user or your engineer when you try and remove the program as it is like glue. Sticks to your registry an all associated programs. (Lets just say you are going to play hell removing the program). You will have to go into your registry and remove by hand all the left overs. Plus it will say write protected even on your associated programs you have running in your system. With each piece you remove you will have to reboot and then it will be deleted.

I use a program from Beijing, China that you may not heard of or it is not even rated. What is rated 1-2-3, is not always the best software on the market.

This software company can be found at www.filseclab.com (Twister Anti-TrojanVirus). Plus it is one of the very few antivirus/spyware companies where you only have to pay one time fee for the software. And you get frequent updates, plus any an all new versions of this product is free. (China does not believe in the annual fee. You pay once and get life time updates and service).

Twister in my opinion is the most advanced state of the art technology. If you open a webpage and there is a embedded trojan in the webpage, the software will clean on the spot as it has a monitor running always in the background.

If you download music, or a software program and there is an embedded trojan/virus in the software it will stop the installation and clean, plus will trace back where the virus came from.

Even found an embedded trojan in the installer of one company that outsourced the installer guide to another company.

Because I am a volunteer doctor working in refugee camps located in war zones, I am required by law to keep my pc 100% clean. For over six years now I have never been hit with one virus.

Well worth the one time fee. Try and find any other software that you don't have to renew the annual fee.

And for a good malware back-up that does not cause conflict you can download www.ewido.net, or www.ewido.com, or www.avg.com and look for ewido on avg as they just purchased the company from Germany. You download the program and run it until the test period runs out. If you don't wish to purchase it is free. Or you can use another back-up malware program that is free from www.emsisoft.com. Both of these back up programs protect you from rogue dialers an other related malware.

Not if it is connected to the internet - it should also have a firewall.
Antivirus only protects against viruses, not against hackers.
A firewall will provide that additional protection.

I use Norton Internet Security, which combines a firewall with Norton Antivirus.

These are a thousand times better. I have never had luck with Norton or McAfee...and I've been computing 18 years.

Run the tool and then download the free spyware and virus protection programs:

Ad-Aware Free download:

depends exactly what you need, for a home PC with broadband its ok if you have the security suite not just the anti virus as a firewall and spyware scanner really are needed now, Personally Mcafee is slightly better than Norton and my personal choice at home is Avast! with Zonelabs firewall

No. An anti-virus only protects and detects viruses. You also need a firewall to protect againest hackers and an anti-spyware to protect againest ad/spyware.

An addition of Spybot Search and Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
and Free ZoneAlarm firewall:
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/comparison.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en&lid=ho_za
will provide you with a decent basic level of protection.

Both are free!

hi, norton is very good to kill virus, but it need a fee to use.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar.

firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
