No he'll be forgiven and go on.

Believers will fail to see the hypocrisy he has shown and continue to raise him on their shoulders.

Believers never seem to be able to recognize hypocrisy.

They'll be blinded by the fact that he made the most popular religious movie in history,

They came in by the busloads to bring tickets sales over 600 million.

Mel grew up in a home with a father that had very extreme views (his father denies the holocaust happened). He's fought alcoholism for years.

I think his drunken ranting was a result of the ideals that had been brow beaten into him growing up. When Mel is sober and thinking clearly, I don't think he really believes those things. I think he makes conscious choices to overcome his childhood and the extreme views that were forced upon him.

I'm not saying it's right, but the fact that when he's in full control of himself, he tries to overcome the anti-semitism ideals and be a better person than his father was.

There is an old Jewish saying (in Hebrew):
"Wine goes in, and a secret comes out". (Nichnas yayin, yotseh sod)

Maybe Mel Gibson should learn some Jewish wisdom instead of slamming the Jews.

And no, I will not go to see any of his movies ever again.

Everyone vowed his career would be over after The Passion of the Christ movie. I still want to see his new movie and the public will keep him in business.

As long as there are investors interested in making a profit, he'll bounce back. His remarks, drunken or not, were despicable. However, given the current events in Lebanon, he may not have taken a major hit to his appeal to audiences outside the USA.

As for his pictures, I see no reason to boycott the actors, writers, stuntmen, and host of others who contribute to his films, but my opinion of him as a fine actor and director will be forever tarnished.

No, he is still a huge box office draw, and I would go see him even after his drunken foray...

Everyone has thier hangups and when you drink, and your inhibitions are lowered, you tend to bring them to the surface, so, thats what he did.

He must have something that was brewing against the jewish people, either in his personal or professional life, and it was bothering him enough to run into that tirade of blathering idoicy at the moment...

I wish you well..

Jesse

Who cares what he said? Just the fact that it's on the news proves that people have nothing better to waste their time with. Why not report news that MATTERS? Seriously, come on now, the guy is entitled to free speech, just as everyone else is. I don't believe his career is over.

Well, seeing as his father was a neo-nazi, I think that he should not be blamed ENTIRELY for what he said. I haven't watched any of his movies before this incident, I still won't see any of his movies. I think he is a bad actor and his face makes me want to run away and hide.

yup people swear like they have never said anything derogatory or rude about anyone else and they all swear like they've never offended anyone. i think everyone has the right to their own opinion and i dont think that just because you dont agree with what someone said while they were drunk is a reason to stop seeing their movies. Come on every one says stupid things when they're drunk get over it!!

who said so?!
i never knew drunk driving and saying stupid things could end the long, solid career of a good actor and excellent director...
duh! just think about other celebs please...those who made racist lyrics and made stupid movies about 9/11 attacks...
their careers are blooming!
Mr.Gibson, you will be just fine :)
