The easiest way to look at makeup is to start with a natural style. Look at the color of your skin and make sure that whatever you decide to use, whether it's foundation (for all over your face) or just concealer (for only the blemishes and under eye circles), you pick something that matches your skin tone.
-Take a foundation and hold it to you jawline. If you can sample the color, spread a little there and see if it blends in. Nothing is worse than too orange or too dark.
-For concealer under the eyes, go one shade paler than your natural skin color.

For eyes, cheeks, and lips, look at what color are already in your skin. Take those colors and go one or two shades dark to accentuate what you already have. Find something just a little pinker or peacher than your cheeks. Find something a little darker than your natural lips. This way, it's easy to pick out the colors and VERY hard to go wrong.

Don't forget a dark brown or black mascara. It makes a world of difference. If you feel comfortable using eyeliner, start with a dark brown and graduate to black once you've gotten used to it. If you have very pale skin/hair, try to stick to brown so you don't look too unatural.

Once you've mastered natural makeup, then bring on the blues, reds, and everything else crazy. ;)

Try L'Oreal, that's the best drugstore cosmetic line. There are good products in other lines too, Rimmel is pretty good quality. I don't like Cover Girl or Maybelline myself. Don't know how old you are, but you might want to take a look at Glamour, it's a "real woman" magazine, it's what we were reading in high school if you're that age. In Style is great also, they have a new makeover issue out that has some great tips.

ok cover girl is good and unexpensive...... definatly if you are a blond or a light brown head use a black eyeliner..... if u have darker brown hair or black hair either use a black or a dark brown.... ummm not to much fountation or blush but i like to use a light pink

too much eyeshadow makes you look like a drag so very natural

chanel and seventeen said the new "in" is thicker eye brows and the makeup looks natural

get a makeup magazine or seventeen!! i love seventeen and it keeps me looking new and young like i am!

In my opinion, good brushes are the cornerstone of looking good. You need to find what type of makeup works for your complexion. Some people can't wear certain types of makeup. I find that I definitely mix and match higher end products with less expensive products. You are not saving money when you buy several items that are cheaper in price and you toss them because they weren't what you expected them to be, rather than buying a couple things that cost more and you like.
