My word of the day today is Tuesday, but I like to change is as the week progresses. I'll probably keep this for the rest of the day though and choose another one tomorrow.

My university picks up a new word everyday as the word of the day. Today was this:

prima facie \PRY-muh-FAY-shee; -shuh\, adverb:
1. At first view; on the first appearance.

adjective:
1. True, valid, or adequate at first sight; as it seems at first sight; ostensible.
2. Self-evident; obvious.
3. (Law) Sufficient to establish a fact or a case unless disproved.

Wordsmith Daily's Word of the Day is "guttle", which means "to eat voraciously, to devour greedily".

Personally, I prefer skookum. It means "powerful, first-rate".
