Well, I'm American, so I'm biased. This is my home, and I love this country. We have many, many faults. We're arrogant, brash, insensitive. Our foreign policy is based on whoever is in office at the moment. We don't have national health care, many of celebrities are flat out crazy, but...
We are based on ideals, that are timeless. We have great potential, and while we don't always live up to it, it's still there. We can rise to the occasion, when we need to, like on 9/11, or during the Asian tsunami, or Hurricane Katrina.
I worked at a grocery store during those last two disasters. During a two week period, my customers donated more then $5,000. These were busy men and women on their lunch breaks, little kids who came in for a candy bar, older people who were retired and on a fixed income, almost everyone gave something.
It made me proud and glad to live here.

Could some things be better?...sure.
We could have:
Medical insurance and legalized herb like Canada...
100 mg Absynth like the Czech Republic...
A decent soccer legal like England's Premiership legal...
A more streamlined electronic communications system like Japan...
Less Sexual Inhibited women like most of Europe....
But we could also be...
bored out of our mind like Canada...
constantly on the verge of getting our @ss kicked like France...
Ravaged by war and Poverty like Africa...
80% Tax brackets like in France...
living in a dictatorship...N. Korea, China, Cuba...etc
I just think about it this way. I love America, she's not perfect, but then you show me somebody who is. It's a trade and the grass is always greener on the other side. I'm well traveled and I'd have to say that there is no place I'd rather live. This is a free country so if you dont like living here you are free to leave, but me I'll stay.
God Bless the USA.......and may he smite our embarassment of a President.

We have our share of problems, but as an experienced world-traveler, I can assure you we still have the best system going.
I object to the way you phrased your question, sir. Maybe after living abroad in various countries and having to live under their systems and laws, you might view the issue somewhat differently and would be a little more respectful. As stated, your question sounds like it came from someone who has traveled only so far away from home as the nearest state fair.

I must admit, the USA have fallen behind. Sports, technology, economy, you name it. Many of the countries are catching up. For example, we lost the gold in the Olympics in basketball, Japan and South Korea have develope better technology than us now, and the jobs here in the U.S. are being given away to immigrants intead of Americans.

Contrary to the notion of some misguided individuals, the USA does not suck, We are held in place by gravity, the same as everyone else around the globe.
