Back in the 30s, there was an invention the Excoriator. It allow hemp to be separated from the stalk for better processing as paper.
William Randoph Hearst was nervous.
Aside that you can get more paper per acre from hemp then from trees, the growth turn around time was far shorted.
Hearst had too much invested in trees to let this invention come to fruition.
With the help of Harry J Anslinger, head of the FBN (Federal Bureau of Narcotics), they concocted a series of storier of how Negroes and Mexicans got hopped up on pot, took an axe and chopped people to death.
American, being sheep, believed this and pot was criminalized in 1937.

Yes I have eaten too much of it. It was a wicked batch of brownies, and they tasted so good, that I ate one too many and got very sick. Before you anti-pot people get your panties in a bunch, I have a medical for growing and personal use. Here in California it is perfectly legal, so I am not breaking any laws. Eating it is a great way to get your dose, as it does not affect your lungs. You just have to be careful and not over do it. Happy trails.

I wouldnt say that I OD'ed but I smoked way to much, like WAY too much and hallucinated and blacked out for about 5 minutes, people told me I totally was wigging out. But it may have been something else, like I had taken echanachia and ginko baliba that day too, I have wondered for years what happened to me that day... so I dont know, but thats my experince. Been sober for 14 months now, you should try it, life if totally, totally way way way better than ever... drug free is the way to go!

No. It is illegal because the government knows that if it were legal, they wouldn't get much money off of it because everyone would grow it at home. That is the REAL reason.
