To some people sheep are pets but the rest of us raise them for food. I don't think its bad to kill animals for meat as long as while they are alive they are treated well. Sheep are part of the food chain and somebodys got to get your lamb chops...or are they too cute. Sorry but God gave us this right u cant take it away :)

I wouldn't call them a friend, but they are animals, and are very cute and fluffy.
But unfortunatly mother nature put them below us on the food chain, making them food if people choose to eat lamb or mutton.
Sorry sheep

If you choose to be vegan its up to you, but sheep are not really interested in being friends with people; they're far happier being sheep. Daft slogans really don't persuade people to radically alter their eating habits or morals, and put a lot of people off.

"Since ancient times, lamb has been regarded as a religious symbol. It was commonly used as a sacrifice, and a symbol of sacrifice, in many religions including Judaism. In many countries, lamb is a traditional dish at Easter in commeration of the Last Supper at which lamb was likely served."
But people in the US really do not eat as much lamb as other countries.
"In the U.S., the per capita consumption of lamb (and mutton) is less than one pound per person, compared to almost 40 lbs. in New Zealand. However, the majority of today's U.S. immigrants originate from regions of the world where lamb (and goat) are commonly consumed. Thus, the U.S. continues to import lamb to meet consumer demand and there is a growing market for lamb."
I don't eat lamb. But many other countries eat lamb especially.

Go there if you want more info, but be warned, it might be a little bit graphic for you, if you don't like to look at meat.

Im vegan so i suppose my answer is fairly biased, ive been a vegan for almost 8 years and the way that people can be so cruel and ignorant to the way that animals are being slaughtered everyday, makes me ashamed to be human.

False - do you really think they'd be seen frollicking in the fields if they weren't being raised for food? and no they wouldn't be raised solely for the wool they produce. Besides, a nice lamb chop tastes lovely.
