Castro's just about dead anyway.. and his brother is gettin' up there in age too..

It's simple - not everyone hates Castro. Don't believe U.S. propaganda. The man is admired throughout Central and South America. And he still has powerful friends in other parts of the world.
If you wonder why so many Cubans like him, look up the man he replaced - a guy named Batista. Let's just say Castro's the lesser of two evils - and the average Cuban had no other choices besides those two.

During the Cold War in JFK's presidential administration and the Cuban Missile Crisis we agreed not to overthrow Fidel Castro. Soviet Union had missiles in Cuba pointed towards the US and the US had missiles in Turkey pointed toward Soviet. We both agreed to remove the missile to avoid a nuclear war and in this agreement we agreed not overthrow Castro.

Because the people in Cuba absolutely love him.
Cuban exiles tend not to, but that's why they left. He is probably the most popular leader of the last 50 years. He's done a hell of a lot for the counrty as well.

He has the support (of some sort) fromt he people.
He is still seen as a hero for the Bay of Pigs and the Missile Crisis, standing up to the might and power of the US.
