That's an awesome question .... to me he should go in as a Mariner, but, if he wins the WS with the Reds ... then he would have hit 500 Hr's and won a WS wearing a Reds uniform ... go figure!!!

Players should go into the HOF without a specific uniform... Maybe make up a HOF uniform for the sake of it. I think Ken Griffey Jr. should go into the hall of fame as a baseball player, not a Mariner or a Red.
This is a hot button for me, Wade Boggs wanted to go in with a Tampa Bay Devil Ray uniform.... This needs to change.

As a Mariner.
And I echo the comment above that says anyone who thinks Griffey isn't going to the Hall hasn't paid much attention. Griffey was in the Hall before he ever went to Cincinnati.

Griffey has not matched his Seattle success in Cincinnati. I think more fans around the country identify him as a Mariner, and so the Hall will likely have him go in as a Mariner.
Note that it's the Hall's choice, not the player's.

First off, anyone who thinks Junior won't make the Hall has no idea what they're talking about, and I'm guessing that they never saw him play in his pre-injury days.
As for the uniform, it's a tough call. His glory days were certainly with the Mariners, so they should have the advantage. At the same time, the Reds are his hometown team, and he hit his 500th homer while in their uniform. Still, I guess I'd see him going in as a Mariner.

Stat wise he avg .296 and 36 homers with the Mariners, with the Reds he is .270 and 25 homers. His RBI's are down but only because of lack of talent around him. If he had been not hurt himself he would have a statistics close to his better years in Seattle. His heart is in Cincinnati and he is a hometown boy. If the Mariners wanted to have a guy in their uniform in the HOF they should stop trading away all their talent and step up and feild a team. And those who think if he wins a championship with the Reds then he could use that uniform, he never won one with Seattle either.

Junior in his prime was not as good as Bonds pre-steroids. However, that is another debate.
The HOF now chooses what uniform a player wears into the Hall, and I don't think there is any questions he will go into the Hall as a Mariner.

There are actually people that said he does not deserve to get into the hall. These people obviously have not watched baseball and might not even know what the game is. Ken Griffey J.R. was and is the best player of our generation, and he did not need to cheat, juice-up or anything to get that way. Time will tell.

With Ken Griffey Sr. being a Red and Jr. growing up in the clubhouse if he gets in the Hall he will definately choose to be a Red.

He's not having a bad year this year, but given that the majority of his HoF years were in Seattle I would say yes. That, and as a Mariners fan I really want to see him there representing :) Unless he gets really hot and wins the Reds a world series before retiring, the M's stand a pretty good shot.

It's unfair to say he's done squat in Cincy because he's been hurt so much. When he has played his numbers have been good. But yes he should go into the HOF as a Mariner.
