Israel. They can't seem to "play nice" with anyone they live with or next to. Their citizens appear to have a personality disorder. They believe that they are God's chosen people and anything they do (including agressiveness towards others) is justified. Their persecution in the past has been no accident. They have been persecuted for the reasons I have listed above.

The bloke from number 72, he's always up to something, and his eyes are too close together if you know what I mean.
Serioulsy though, it's a messy problem going back a long time, I personally blame the UK for screwing the area over and then giving it up without proper thought after WW2, then again, the US did pester us a bit so mybe it's their fault.
Anyway, Israel are defending themselves, albeit a little too sternly, in the same way many western countries are doing and have done in the past.
Why wasn't the Lebanese government ridding its own country of these terrorists before it got out of hand? There are only 2 answers, either Hezbollah run Lebanon, or they are in league with the residing gov

Too right this is NOT funny when the Israel / Lebanon conflict has caused untold misery and suffering to man, woman and child.
Is playing the Blame Game really going to solve anything?
Will it bring Peace and Understanding? I doubt it!
Demonising whole peoples - Arabs, Israelis or Jews will not solve anything.
Like saddo Anti-Semite Massiha. It is not "War" you are against - it is Israel's Right to Exist you oppose.
Massiha may I remind you of one of your more recent assertions: "The only reason they're (Israel) still alive is because the US backs them up. Otherwise, the Germans or the Arabs would have wiped them off the face of this earth. They're horrible people. They bombed hospitals, escape roads, airports, bus stations. They bombed civilians trying to escape in cars and buses..."
I seem to remember the Arabs and Germans - you mention who should have WIPED OUT the Jews - doing exactly just that - so Efficiently - under both Saddam Hussein and Hitler - bombing hospitals, escape roads, airports, bus stations, and civilians trying to escape in cars and buses. SHAME ON YOU.
Massiha, seems to me, like most others in the Stop The West (sorry I meant Stop The War, yes, I know, but that’s their real agenda) camp - you are pretty good at playing the Blame Game, and driven by a Sad Pathological Compulsive Anti-Zionist Disorder and Addiction to Blame and Bash Israel rather than truly motivated by Desiring Peace and Seeking a Solution.
Judas, it would be much more constructive if you asked the question "How can we Achieve Peace in the Middle East".
See You in Trafalgar Square Massiha!

PS Interesting point: The word "Assassin" actually comes from Arabic. It was coined from a secretive extremist Shia Arabic-Iranian Terrorist organisation based in Lebanon and Iran called the Hashisham (Assassins) of Alamut. They were founded by Hassan i Sabbah of the Persian Ismai'ili sect in 1090. Their Mission was to kill Western Infidels and Crusaders, but they also killed a lot of other Muslims they did not like. They also conducted lots of Suicide Missions. They were major players in the international Drugs trade. The Assassins of Alamut, it is said liked to imbibe copious quantities of Hashish before they assassinated someone. Hence the origin of the word "Assassin". The Assassins were finally destroyed by the Mongols under Genghis Khan. This was greeted with much joy by orthodox Muslims. The Assassins have been a blue print for many of the modern Terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah. The more things change in the Middle East the more things seem to stay the same!

Blame is the flame that's burning the Middle east.
It's the blamer's fault !!
I did have a thought though , if those with the money had subsidised The Lebanese army to be strong enough to control the South of the country after Israel or Syria pulled out . Then in the event of an illegal act ( which no government can guarantee to prevent), they would have been able to take control of the situation themselves.
The only question is ,'was there an agenda in keeping the Lebanese government weak ?'.

Centuries of bitter hatred and animosity.
From what we can tell, and ALL parties agree on this. Hezbollah invaded Israel and abducted two soldiers just after Palestinains in the Gaza did the same thing.
Now. Do you have a child? If someone abducted your child what would you do to get them back? Would you go to war?
If Two citizens fromt he City of Atlanta abducted your kid, would you bomb the heck out of Atlanta in an effor to get the Atlanta Police and FBI to start looking!?
Or would you just sit back like Lindberg did and wait for the dead bodies to be found?
Or, would you sign over your house, bank account, car just to get the kids back?
The choice is yours.
Israel made their choice.
The conflict could possible end tomorrow of both Palestine and Hezbollah gave back the abductees.
They don't want to. That is the bottom line.
Israel is now saying, ok, we'll grind any country into the ground that supports such types of people.
Israel may yet bomb their own abductees! It is possible!
Did the US not do the same thing.
Osama downs the NY Trade Center.
We go into Afghainstan and down everything we can to try and kill him.
It is entirely logical that it would take years if not a century for another Osama to come out and do the same hat trick. If we kill him that would be an end to long range terror.
His subbordinates just know how to do short range terror and make terrible long range goofs.

This is how wars start the blame game. Britain and its allies. Then Israel, then Syria. Now Hezbollah for taking a soldier. Israel for over the top revenge. The USA for not stopping Israel. Syria and Iran for not stopping Hezbollah. The world in the UN for not having the guts to tell both sides to stop. That's how complicated it is . So take your pick.

there is no easy answer to this.
Israel want Lebanon to do something about hezbolla so they are bombing the hell out of them. But Israel have proved that they cannot get rid of hezbolla themselves, and by bombing Lebanon, they are weekening its capacity to confront hezbolla in the first place.
It's a complex situation. Israel are so ready to react with violence that I don't think they give too much attention to possible alternatives. I really don't think hezbolla will go away even if Israel bomb them into submission. If anything Israel are now in the process of creating a new generation of terrorists.
Israel only seem to see things in the short term. That's why they are in this mess. As long as they continue with their beligerence, I'm afraid they will always be at war.

I just wonder why some people close their eyes towards the truth.
Devil lives in Israel! Actually, they have this crazy belief that this land is theirs, even though their messiah hasn't come yet and they cannot claim it as their land until he comes. So technically, they shouldn't even be there. The only reason they're still alive is because the US backs them up. Otherwise, the germans or the arabs would have wiped them off the face of this earth. They're horrible people. They bombed hospitals, escape roads, airports, bus stations. They bombed civilians trying to escape in cars and buses, and they bombed a PREDESIGNATED UN PEACEKEEPING LOOKOUT! All that over two soldiers? Yes, I must admit that Hezb-allah is retaliating, but what would you do if bombs are being dropped over your head. You'd fight back any way you can.
I think that the American government is being hypocritical. Furthermore, I think that the average American is unaware of the actions by all parties in the Middle East, and mostly end up echoing the 30-second sound clips of their government.
1) Americans often repeat the statement that "Israel was the traditional homeland of the Jewish people and it was stolen from them". While this may be a true statement depending on your point of view, if you agree with this statement than logically you should agree that all Americans should be forced to live in 25 states and the American Indians should be given back the other 25 states because their land was stolen from them, too. Or maybe California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of Colorado should be returned to the Mexicans because their land was stolen from them.
2) The American government advocated for fair and free elections and would support the winner. The winner of the fair and free elections was Hamas. Instead of supporting the government as they had promised, the Americans condoned Israel witholding millions of dollars rightfully owed to the new Hamas governemnt so they could build roads, schools, hospitals, businesses, policemen, firemen, and other infrastructure of a nation. If another country witheld millions of dollars from the United States so that they could not pay their citizens salaries, repair bridges, or provide roads to transport food to market, the United States would go to war, too.
3) Why does the United States tolerate Israel being a racist country that only allows Jewish people to live there? When South Africa denied basic civil rights to non-white citizens, there was world wide outrage and demand to stop state sanctioned racism. Instead, the United States supports Israel's state sponsored discrimination against its non-Jewish citizens.
Personally, I do not believe the claims by the American government that organizations such as Hamas, or nations such as Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia are trying to exterminate Israel. This statement is repeated again and again by American officials until they say it enough times that it is accepted as fact.
I believe that if the United States and all countries would end the unfair economic policies, stop military actions against citizens in other countries, and provide hope to Lebannon and the Palestinian people instead of humilation and despair, the fighting would stop and new nations would emerge.

Everyone. Iran for founding Hezbollah, Hezbollah of course for kidnapping the two soldiers, Israel for many things, primarily at this time for extremety of response, Syria for funding Hez, Bush for ignoring much of mideast problems, previous presidents for half a**ing mideast forign policy, being friendly with Israel, promising protection, also making sure to never offend Saudi's with oil, on and on and on.
Simply put the mideast is always going to be a tense waring place, three major religions that do not necessarily get along were all started there and claim as holy land, most of the owrlds oil, countries created post WWI with breakup of Ottoman Empire, Colonialism and its long term ramifications, little water, etc etc etc. Sadly as time goes on the potential disasterous ramifications of a nuclear armed Iran makes this scarier and scarier. Remember that Israel is a nuclear power for one reason, self-preservation, if pushed they are more likely to use nukes than the US ever was during the cold war.

Well... BLAME is an interesting word...
I fully support israels actions as i believe that they are trying to fight terrorism and fighting for the survival of their country....
But how could i BLAME any person... Nobody is born a suicide bomber or a hezbollah fighter. People are raised to hate and hatred is what causes the problems.... You cant blame hezbollah members for thinking what they do... its how they were raised... That said it doesnt mean that what they think is right or that Hezbollah shouldn't be stopped.
i feel sorry for all the innocent people that had to die because of hezbollah , but i think the reason for their deaths are because hezbollah hides behind them and a necessary evil

Lord Balfour,British Foreign Secretary[see Balfour declaration 1917] who stated to jewish leader,Lord Rothshild that the British Government supported providing a homeland [in Palestine] for the jews. The idea being that the jews of USA and Russia would subsequently influence their governments to support the British in world war 1.
I agree it's not funny but is a further indictment of Britains disastrous record on foreign policy.
