Some things about renting are standard everywhere, but each state is different as i am sure you know.. the best thing to do if you are having problems with a landlord is to go to the bank, put your rent for that month into an "escrow" account ( THIS IS CRUCIAL, so you don't have issues in court)-- then fight your argument.
