Some people have the maturity of Jr High kids which also explains the popularity of Howard Stern. A good flatulent joke is good sometimes but American comedies these days have made movies entirely dependent on gas and bodily functions.
It all started with "Blazing Sattles" which I believe has the first fart scene in a movie. This movie was good because it made fun of social issues, not just bodily functions. The toilet humor culture has evolved sense then to where entertainment is entirely dependent on this style of humor. I agree it is alarming how much money and time is being wasted on these projects.

Actually the Americans are no worse than the British when it comes to bathroom humor.
It's mostly the comedians playing to the unsophisticated audience - bathroom humor, like obscenity, is an easy laugh. Takes no imagination, no effort, to produce material for a routine.

What's with the British and their jealousy of America's superpower status? You-all had your turn. Be patient--the pendulum of power always swings in the other direction, although it's going farther east than England. Better start thinking up some reasons to feel superior to the Chinese, compadre.

If you had to suffer the eternal flatulence emanating from our pompous politicians, along with the gaseous emissions belching continuously out of our perennial master known as the Boob Tube, and your entire Country was perpetually going down the Crapper faster than deceased goldfish, you might find some slight relief with the pacifying irreverence of lowbrow humor, too.
So rip one out and quit being so constipated, you ralphing piece of platypus excrement! If you smell sh!t everyplace you go, maybe you'd better check your own shoes first! Let he who is without fart cast the first turd.

Not every American is fascinated with those types of humor. I'm fairly certain that you'd be bound to find many people from many cultures that enjoy that kind of humor so it's not a fair generalization.

Kids think it's funny in ANY context and it's easy humor for parents. If I walk into a room and just SAY "FART" my kids will roll for hours. Easy crowd.

I don't know, but there seems to be a dichotomy regarding 'toilet' humour and the fact that Americans have a dozen euphemisms for 'toilet' and 'toilet paper'.

We love humor and it doesn't matter what kind as long as we can laugh. We are a stressed out country and need relief wherever we can find it.

I am an American & I do not care for that kind of humour, but I see where you would think that. I admit I am not the typical American.
