the drugs weren't technically illegal, it was only viagra.
but viagra is only available by prescription, and the prescription he was carrying was not in his name.
the big question - why would a conservative christian unmarried man need viagra, in the Dominican Republic, a country known for prostitution?
and of course, there was the whole thing with doctor shopping and using fake prescriptions to get oxycontin. this is the guy who said illegal drug users should be locked up in prison for life, but when it happens to him we should make an exception.

Rush Limbaugh was stopped at customs a couple months ago, and was detained briefly for carrying a bottle of Viagra that was prescribed under his doctor's or pharmacist's name, rather than his own.
He was also investigated and ultimately reached a plea agreement for prescription fraud, using third parties to purchase extra prescriptions of Oxycontin, to which he was addicted.
So yes, it's true. Rush is not perfect and has succumbed to the same human frailties that can afflict all of us, Republicans and Democrats alike.
However, I don't believe that Rush ever blamed the Democrats for his illness and addiction, whereas the Democrats would be blaming President Bush if, say, a prominent Air America talk-show host like Al Franken were to face similar strife in his life.
(the last paragraph was an attempt at humorous sarcasm, just to be clear to all those who might be accessing Yahoo! Answers from Rio Linda.)

He was caught with Viagra that wasn't prescribed in his name. His doctor admitted to prescribing it and the reason it wasn't put into Rush's name is because he is a celebrity and there are people that will go to any lengths to humiliate celebrities and stir up controversy (guess that plan backfired, eh?)
I personally don't care...so he uses Viagra? But I'm sure there are tons of busybodies that couldn't wait to jump on this sort of story.

Rush Limbaugh was hooked on oxycontin and hydrocodone for years. The guy is nothing more than another republican hypocrite. He used to pop enough pills every day to knock out a rhino.

He was caught with Viagra...
So, the old man needs a bit of help in that department, so what? Sheesh, a lot of people his age need help :)
Just wait til You get that age, and see if you dont need it too!
And also, it wasnt illegal drugs, it was just a prescription that wasnt in his name, because he didnt want anyone to know that he was using it.
Only Bob Dole lets everyone know he uses the little blue pill :)
I wish you well..

Rush was arrested for using illegal scripts to get metanphetimenes. Typical republican, didn't know he could get the same from a local dealer for half the cost. But all his sayings were drug induced, not common sense.

Yes, it is true my child--Rush did get caught w/illegal drugs. Although, he has a perfectly rational explanation. I am sure that now he'll be kicked out of the group and have to join us heathens!
