Trial and error will tell you where the dead spots are. Use your home phone to dial your cell to test various locations. Start near window, away from electric wires, upstairs. You will eventually find a spot where the reception is best. If not, change companies.

That is because coverage of your service provider is poor in your area. You may still get to speak properly if you move around the house while speaking and find a place where reception is better.
You may also check with your service provide if they have any immediate plans to boost reception in your area. If the answer is negative you may look for another service provider who has good coverage of your area.

Not Really.
Some phones are a bit more sensitive than others.
Or, another carrier may have better coverage in your area.
Most phone dealers will allow you to try out their plan for a short period of time and allow you to return the phone an cancel the plan. You'll only pay for the time used.

Yout might want to consider switching providers. Ask your neighbors what provider they have and if it works around their house.
