I went through Aliied Business schools and I believe they have a medical program. They were great and yes, I did get what I needed out of it. I would type Allied Business schools into Yahoo search and read up on them. They were not too expensive and have a variety of classes you can take. Good luck

As someone who teaches both on-campus and online classes, let me say this. There are legitimate schools that offer online training--classes, certificates, and even degrees. The KEY is to pick one that carries some clout in the field.

If you're going for medical billing and coding, you want a school that gives you practical and intensive training so you can approach potential employers and say "I really know my stuff."

FYI, it's not uncommon for an employer to cringe at not knowing about a particular school. If they've never heard of it before, nor know anyone whose gone there, or if the reputation is "mud," then you're training may be viewed as "schlock."

So pick one that has a good reputation and offers real training. Obviously, hands-on and in-class is more preferable, but online can work too. When you're physically in a classroom, even part of the time, I can see you in action and tell whether you know it or not. Online training doesn't give me this opportunity, but that doesn't mean it's a waste if you were trained from a reputable place.
