Endometriosis is one of the most frequently misdiagnosed medical conditions. The confusion arises because endometriosis is a masked villain and can cause symptoms involving the bowel, bladder, lungs or musculoskeletal systems. In fact, the wide variety of initial symptoms means that women with this problem, on average, suffer nine years of delay in diagnosis and visit more than four physicians.
While the most frequent complaint of endometriosis is pelvic pain preceding the period, low back pain radiating into the buttock and upper thigh is not all that uncommon. Studies have shown that endometriosis can directly invade the sciatic nerve (which serves the leg) and also that general pelvic inflammation and muscle spasm due to endometriosis may cause sciatic-related pain.

You might need to get a laporoscopy to get an endometriosis diagnosis. You can learn more at http://health.ivillage.com/gyno/gynoendo/0,,6hkf,00.html

so "they" did a sonogram, and didn't find anything? Endometriosis shows up on a sonogram you know. So it isn't likely that. An appendix shows on a sonogram too, but whether or not it is infected doesn't show. That would be determined by a blood test to see if your body is producing white cells to fight off infection. But, pelvic pain, combined with lower back pain, sounds like constipation to me. When was the last time you had a normal bowel movement? Has the doctor tested you for IBS? Obviously you are seeing a doctor for this, would suggest you continue.

if they saw cysts on the ovaries in the sonogram that may be the problem and also if they saw fibroids in the sonogram that could be the problem as well. i have endometriosis and it is no joke. it sounds like it is endo more so than the colon. before i found out i thought it was my kidney's, bladder, colon and other areas becasue endo makes it feel that way it affects these areas and sometimes you cannot hold your urine. so please seek further because if it is endo you need to get it taken care of like i'm in the process of doing. but take it from me it takes time for the doctor to rule out all other possibilites.

good luck

Maybe... But sometimes if I'm feeling super stubborn and have already argued that I'm right before I realize I'm wrong, I may not admit it.

If it's your appendix, it could be Appendisitis. It can be deadly, if it makes your appendix burst. You should keep going to doctors to have the problem checked out further.

Good luck in finding out what it is.

Listen to Bangin. If you can do that then the pain isn't horrible. It's just a 12 inch turd.

If you can't then I'm gonna say its PMS.
