i have a few friends with nanos that play videos and i got one and got free videos off itunes and couldnt get it to play vidoes, and my other ipod is completly screwed up but i really think i can fix it. its a 4GB mini that i got last year it was fine then it just died on me. o tried everything from the apple support site, i did visit the apple stares bit they were no help they kept telling me to get a new one, which is the nano thati have now.

my quetions are can a nano play video and is there any hope of saving my mini?

yes a nano can play video if you install ipodlinux onto it, but the ipodlinux hasn't been certified to work on the ipod nano yet, but i've seen people that have tried it and it works. about your mini..i would guess that the battery died cause there is a consiracy theory that the ipod mini's battery only last for 18 months. i dont know if thats true though.Also i dont think any1 can open the ipod up to see whats wrong on the inside. even if they can they probably wont be able to put it back together. in other words your mini is most likely beyond repair
