yeah, its usually just some lonely little brat wanting to report someone....its the same idiots who ask questions about 'weewee's and winkies' and bid on items in ebay with no intention of buying...they are just jerks with nothing to do. don't worry about it.

I got busted for "chatting" when I asked how I could make my avatar look older. I thought it was a legitimate question since I am a lot older than my avatar looks and I don't like to give false impressions. Maybe somebody thought I was ten trying to look like a teen ager but if that were the case you'd think I would be charged with something more serious than chatting. I don't know that anyone reported me. Maybe there is some sort of filter that picks up suspicious combinations of words or something. One time somebody did report me for an answer she didn't like but nothing happened.

It's happened to most of us. Edna hasn't been around THAT long. It could be anyone. I don't know how it could be construed for "gaming for points" but that is what the person "charged" you with. I've been turned in for "chatting" because people didn't like the question. It will happen to you more than once. Don't get mad -- just remember, there's a LOT of people out there (on this site) and you just don't know who you're dealing with. If they don't like your question, then they'll turn you in for abuse.

Unless you're posting in Polls and Surveys or possibly Jokes and Riddles, your question on Yahoo Answers should be phrased so that it's at least possible to determine a single best/correct answer. Questions that begin with "Have you ever..." probably can't be narrowed down to a single best/correct answer. Even if you're not gaiming for points, a question like that certainly isn't much use in the "Answers" archive, even after a single answer has been chosen.

In my opinion it was not gaming for points. It does appear to be for chatting or personal communications.
NO CHATTING OR PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS: You may meet friends or other interesting people on Yahoo! Answers with whom you'd like to engage in personal correspondence. If so, please use the chat option on your profile page, rather than use Yahoo! Answers itself. Questions that are chatty, or attempts to engage others in personal communications, will be removed. Some examples of questions that do not comply with the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines are below. These are just a few examples, and we reserve the right to change, remove, or add to the list at any time, without notice:
How are you?
Anyone want to chat?
What's your name?
How old are you?
Do you like my avatar?
What time is it?
Who here likes steak?
How many points do you have?
Who likes Britney Spears?

I have gotten one violation for a question that I asked over a month before I got the violation. They accused me of "chatting" and I wasn't even looking to chat with anyone.

I got -9 points for a humorus answer given to a person who apparently had no sense of humor. My answer supposedly insighted violence and hatred. The dipship wanted to know how to lose 115 pounds in 2 months. I suggested amputating a few limbs. Who knew?

i have been married two times previously, so i do not care if i do not marry back, yet I gained't say that I "gained't" marry back...it is not any longer a concern in any respect, yet i ought to like to have someone to percentage my existence with... i have been unmarried for a lengthy time period now (the better area of the previous 11 yrs) so i'm delicate with it merely being me, if it really is how something of my existence is going...I have friends and relations and pastimes, so it is under no circumstances dull (yet each and every in certain situations it receives lonely)...

Nope. Not yet. I have done some reporting though...usually only when there are a lot of inappropriate words used or the person is just out to insult others.

I had one of my first questions yanked. I posted a question about adopting a pet, as opposed to buying one, and at the bottom I referenced a locla shelter and told people to look for places like that if they wanted to adopt. It got yanked as an AD!
