Because schools can dictate their own rules just like a dress code. They don't want possibly inappropriate things to be said or done, for fear of it escalating into something worse.
For the same reason they don't let people wear shirts advertising beer or liquor or cigarettes.
Liability is a major issue for schools, especially if they are sued or if something happens to a student.

Who, what school? What grade are you in? Just tell them I have the freedom of speech.....when your teacher is not teaching a class session. If it's study hall, lunch, free time- you can tell them your preaching on your first ammendment. BUT if your teacher is teaching, you'll be in the principal's office faster than Chris Brown's song went to the top of the billboards.
