With enough money you can buy respect but lots of respect doesn't get you any money (unless you sell your story on Oprah, but how respectful is that?)
Sad but true.

Money and respect are not inconsistent or mutually exclusive. Indeed, money is a proxy for much of what people, and society, hold dear. Thus: even if you have a rubbish passport or none at all, you can get a visa to almost any country if you have solid assets. You can also attract members of the opposite sex, and -- with or without a bit of effort -- get an advanced university degree.
So I vote for money. Respect will follow naturally.

You can buy respect with money, or you can lose respect by asking for money. So I'd take the money, and then have both!

You have to earn both, but I would rather just be given money and know that I earned the respect.

respect bc when ur money runs out the respect is still there. respect never runs out n people don't realize it can get u a lot father in life then money can

I'd much rather have Money!
You can't always have enough to pay for respect, but the lack of funds just doesn't helps you gain as much respect.
People will disrespect you and anyone else by or for any means, having money just makes it easier to laugh it off.
