you can press on it to make pages scroll by them selves, hold own the CTRL key while rolling the wheel make the page text larger, hold down the SHIFT key while rolling the wheel works like forward and back buttons in your browser's tool bar. you can scroill through autorepeat menus alsso with it.
it can be programed to do about anything. check the documentation that came with it. also there are help sites for that.

Mouse Wheel, and scroller, both words people use often but microsoft windows uses this word as "Wheel" and it says,
"Roll the wheel notch to scroll"
So its a wheel that scrolls :)
