Be yourself & stop trying to appeal to others. Selfconfidence & being an independent person are the most appealing traits.

As for smart, nice clothes or haircuts might help; but cute comes from a genuine smile and warm personality. It's true...not just some sweet sentimental saying.
Of course, some people have naturally "better" features than others and there's not always a lot you can do about that. Just don't be all scroungy, tattered and smelly--that can ruin it all.

The only way to look cute is to be a happy, friendly, outgoing person. Clothes and hair do not make up your personality. It shines through no matter what you are wearing.
If you want to look b*tchy or slutty, that can be done through clothing, hair, and makeup, but cute is pure, and can not be faked.
