new born is over at 3 months
than they are an infant / baby.
at 12 months they turn into toddlers
somewhere around 2 1/2 - 3 years they are preschoolers
after that they are just kids.
this is the normal usage of the terms but many people will elongate the time period for a newborn so as to extend the baby phase.

Well, according to clothing, newborn is to 9 months and after that it's "infant" size clothing; however, in general I would say when they can hold up their head on their own and can roll over then they aren't a newborn anymore since the extremly fragile state of a new baby has subsided.

Once they hit 2 months, I don't consider them a newborn anymore.
At 3-4 months they are not newborn anymore by any means.
