Most of the photos on the fashion/celebrities magazines are altered with Photoshop and similar programs. It's like the instant cosmetic surgery of models/celebrities. You can erase pounds at will; change a nose, make your face smaller, hair implants, thinner legs, anything really. So most pictures in magazines of style/models or celebrities that are admired as beautiful and perfect are nothing more than the result of a graphic designer imagination.
I was just wondering how many people knew this fact?. I only new this last year, before that I thought it would be impossible as it was a misconception of the truth (and that would be illegal in newspapers or magazines) How naive I was...

Yes, I knew this. The fashion/beauty industry will stop at nothing to sell their products or services, even if it means manipulating the minds of young, impressionable females. This is why Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty was a breath of fresh air, showing real women without airbrushing in all their glory. Some people were actually shocked to see what real women looked like, because they had become so accustomed to pictures of skinny, airbrushed models, they had forgotten (or never realised) how real women look. Sad, but true.

Yep, nevermind all the lights that shine into all the lumps, bumps and wrinkles. And clothes get pinned around models so that they fit perfectly.

Why do you think the gossip magazines make such a big deal about a pimple on a celeb? They are all just human beings with the same skin trouble as the rest of us.
